Acupuncture
We use stimulation and synergy to heal.
Acupuncture has scientific explanations for the benefits seen and works through neuromodulation. The acupoints that the Chinese found and used are located next to nerves or thickened soft tissue that when stimulated produce biochemical and healing responses. By “modulating” the nerves, we can adjust how the body senses pain and stimuli in our environment. Acupuncture can help treat:
- Musculoskeletal Issues (such as arthritis or nerve injury)
- Respiratory Problems (such as asthma in cats)
- Gastrointestinal Issues
- Certain Reproductive Issues
Because of the potential for harm, if treatments are done incorrectly, only a trained veterinary professional should perform this treatment. Dr. Miller is certified in veterinary acupuncture and can provide safe and effective acupuncture treatment for your pet.

Botanical Medicine
We offer herbal therapy for your pet.
Botanical medicine is the use of herbal remedies to treat various pet maladies. These herbs can be used in conjunction with traditional western medicine to help treat certain conditions. It should be noted that not all herbal remedies are created equally, and only a trained veterinary professional should make herbal recommendations. Dr. Miller is certified in veterinary botanical medicine and, therefore, highly qualified to discuss potential herbal remedies for your pet.

Wellness Visits
Regular wellness exams help keep your pet happy and healthy.
Wellness visits are incredibly important to make sure your pet is healthy. They also help us catch any illnesses before they become severe. In a wellness visit, our veterinarian will give your pet a thorough examination from head to tail, looking for any abnormalities, as well as discuss their frequent habits, diets, or any changes in behavior. We recommend annual examinations. What makes us unique is that we can come to you for exams, reducing your pet’s stress by examining them in their home.

Preventative Care
Prevention is the first step to a healthy pet.
While many illnesses can be treated, stopping them before they happen is ideal. Vaccinations, annual blood screenings, and parasite screening and prevention are all necessary to help discourage illness. Vaccinations can decrease your pet’s chance of contracting a deadly disease, such as Rabies or Distemper. Checking your pet’s blood work annually makes it easier to catch such problems as decreased organ function, anemia, or infection before they become serious. Parasite prevention, such as tick prevention, reduces your pet’s exposure to Lyme disease and other tick-borne illnesses. Call us today to discuss the ways preventative care can help your pet.

Dermatology
An itchy pet is an unhappy pet.
There are many different ailments that can affect a companion animal’s skin. Whether it’s a topical problem, like a hot spot or rash, or something more in-depth like an infection, the symptoms can be unpleasant. You don’t want to see your best friend suffer like that, and neither do we! At Integrative Veterinary Care, we want to help get your loved one as healthy on the outside as on the inside.
The first step toward helping your pet feel better again is identifying the precise condition he or she is experiencing. Some of the dermatological issues we can provide assistance with include:
- Allergies (food and/or environmental)
- Infections (acute or chronic)
- Parasites
- Dermatitis
- Hormonal Disorders
- Autoimmune Diseases
- Tumors
- Skin Cancer
If your pet is showing signs of skin issues, such as excessive scratching, scabbing or flaking of the skin, hot spots, shedding more than usual, biting, chewing, or licking at the affected area, or bumps or lumps on or under the skin, please request an appointment with us!

Internal Medicine
We’re focused on keeping your pet healthy inside and out.
Your pet’s health includes having healthy functioning internal organs. These organs can become diseased or damaged due to injury or hereditary factors. Veterinary internal medicine is involved with the diagnosis and treatment of your pet’s internal organs.
Being inside the animal’s body, damage and other symptoms of diseased or injured internal organs are often not visible. Plus, our pets are unable to alert us when they are suffering pain or other symptoms of internal organ problems. This is why periodic head to tail preventive care exams and good nutrition, especially in the case of older pets, are an important part of ensuring a long and healthy life for your pet.

End-of-Life Care
When you have to say goodbye, do it with compassion and care.
Our team understands that this may be one of the most difficult decisions you’ll ever have to make. Rest assured that most pet owners struggle with this decision, and it’s not one you’ll have to make alone. We’ll be by your side for as much time as you need to discuss options and talk it through. Euthanasia is a peaceful and virtually pain-free process, but it is best to understand what will occur and how your pet’s body may react. Knowing these things may help you make your decision regarding euthanasia and make the process less traumatic for you.
Being animal lovers and owners ourselves, we understand how hard it is to weigh your pet’s condition and his or her quality of life. We will take the time to discuss the physical and emotional factors involved in making end-of-life decisions and give you the time you need to consider your pet’s unique situation.
If you decide that euthanasia is necessary, we are able to come to your home, keeping your pet as comfortable and stress-free as possible.

Diagnostic Imaging (Including X-Ray, Dental X-Rays, and Ultrasound)
This is the way for us to have a quick and painless peak inside your pet.
Diagnostic imagery is incredibly important in your pet’s health to help us work towards a diagnosis that blood work or a physical exam may not reveal. We currently perform all ultrasounds and radiographs at Zionsville Country Veterinary Clinic.
Ultrasonography is a completely non-invasive, painless way to diagnose and evaluate many common diseases. Ultrasound machines allow us to visualize certain organs very thoroughly, including the heart, kidneys, liver, gallbladder, bladder, spleen, and intestines. It can also be useful to detect and monitor pregnancy. Through this tool, we can monitor blood flow to organs, look for abnormal fluid around the heart or lungs, or diagnose and stage certain forms of cancer.
A radiograph (X-ray) is a type of photograph that looks inside the body and reveals information that may not be discernible from the outside. Radiography can be used to evaluate your pet’s internal organs like the heart, lungs, and abdominal organs, as well as bones. When it comes to accurately diagnosing your pet, radiology can be an extremely valuable tool in our diagnostic arsenal. There have been many advancements in digital X-ray technology, and we can now manipulate the digital images that we take. This allows us to diagnose issues that may not be seen on a traditional X-ray.
